Beautiful September did not disappoint this year. And just when we thought the rain would never arrive, it poured down in bucket-loads! It was another busy time in my studio with two Spring Workshops and a Spring Soirée, which was the highlight of my 2025 art calendar. Word of the Month
“Anthophile”
A person who loves or has a deep appreciation for flowers. The word originates from the Greek words "anthos" (flower) and "philos" (lover or fond of). An anthophile is drawn to the beauty, fragrance, and variety of flowers and often feels a strong connection to nature.

Spring Soirée
26 September 2025 (Friday 6pm - 8pm)
The Spring Soirée was a magical affair. Elegantly attired guests were entertained, enchanted and mesmerised by the talented Korean guitarist, Yohan Song, whilst enjoying delicious snacks, cheese, wine, animated conversation, and the opportunity to preview and bid on 9 of the 15 Inktober drawings before the online auction commences on Wednesday 1 October 2025. I’m definitely considering making this an annual event.
Nothing But Ink!
Our third Inktober Online Auction starts tomorrow!! And this time the drawings are in GLORIOUS BRILLIANT TRANSLUSCENT COLOURED INK from Winsor & Newton! All proceeds go to the Church of the Nazarene’s H.O.P.E. Basket (Help Other People Eat). What a fun and exciting way to participate in a worthy cause!

Raffle for H.O.P.E.

Running in tandem with the Inktober Auction is a Raffle for those who wish to participate in the HOPE Basket fund-raiser, but don’t want to bid on the Inktober drawings.

Blossoms & Bees
Two watercolour workshops were held (one on the 6th and one on the 20th of September) at my Libradene art studio. In keeping with the theme, sparkling transparent layers of Daniel Smith watercolours were used to capture the delicate, fresh spirit of Spring. Both workshops delivered splendid results and were great fun!
