Love It? Bid on It!

  1. Bids start at R100, and go up in multiples of R50 e.g. If someone has already bid R100, you may bid R150, R250, R500 etc
  2. You may bid on as many drawings as you wish, as often as you wish.
  3. Bidding stays live on all the works until noon 7 November 2025.
  4. The person with the highest bid on each work will then buy the work.
  5. All proceeds go towards The Church of the Nazarene's H.O.P.E. Basket (Help Other People Eat)

Story: French lavender is known for its lovely flowers and pleasant aroma.

The lavender flower symbolises serenity, calmness, purity, devotion, grace, and healing. Because the bees love this plant, every garden should have one.

Thus sang the orphans in the movie Oliver! (based on Dickens' Oliver Twist, set in 1830s London). I wonder if they were singing about Colman’s Mustard, which was founded by Englishman Jeremiah Colman in 1814?

Peck's Anchovette originated in the UK in 1891 before arriving in South Africa in the 1960s. It was discontinued in SA in 2021 but after a massive public outcry it was brought back in 2023.

Marmite is considered the most polarizing brand since 1902! Love it, or hate it, the iconic brown bulb-shaped glass jar with its yellow lid is instantly recognizable.

Story: Butter yellow and golden bronze roses are pretty enough to attract a gorgeous dragonfly. 

The Royal Albert "Tea Rose" pattern features butter yellow and golden bronze roses with green leaves on fine bone china, often with gold trimming and a scalloped edge. First produced in the 1940s.

Story: Deep blue moonlit roses add a touch of romance to your Royal Albert Collection. 

The "Moonlight Rose" pattern was introduced in 1987.  It’s a refreshing twist on the iconic "Old Country Roses" design, featuring pretty blue roses on the inside of the cup, and 22-carat gold trim.  The delicate butterfly adds a touch of whimsy to the ink drawing.

Story: “Winsome” means attractive or appealing in a fresh, innocent way.

A pretty, colourful posy in a delicate white Royal Albert bone china cup decorated with winsome pink roses and blue flowers, using Winsor & Newton colour inks. The Winsome pattern is a classic vintage (1975 – 1997)

MEMORY LANE

Every tea lover deserves a fine bone china Royal Albert teacup 

Story: This is a drawing of a teacup from the "Memory Lane" teaset which I inherited from my Mom. Drawing done in Winsor & Newton colour inks. 

"Memory Lane" pattern was first made in 1965 and was produced until 1973. The pattern is composed of small sprigs of blue forget-me-nots with light green stems and leaves. It is finished with 22-carat gold edging.
