MARIA'S MUSINGS

Love at first sight is often like a firework that starts with a beautiful big bang and then quickly fizzles out with a sad little hiss. True love, on the other hand, is like a star that burns brightly long after the "big bang" is over. Although invisible by day, it just keeps on shining and we find it comforting to know it’s there.  When the night sky is at its darkest, that’s when the star is brightest.

Many scientists believe that we are stardust. Well, that’s debatable, but we ARE called to “shine like stars in the universe”. Just as a star sparkles in the night sky, we should shine in a world that is darkened by sin, so that people seeking to know Christ can use our light to navigate their way.  If we want to shine like stars in the sky, we have to start by being honest with ourselves. Are we consistently shining brightly like the stars, day and night…or do we fizzle out when the going gets tough?
