JUNE 2026 NEWSLETTER #64
Dear Friends
June was a rather busy month for us all with Father’s Day, Youth Day, March and March days, Winter Solstice, and so many more events crowding our calendars. We can be forgiven for feeling somewhat ramfeezled unless, of course, we allowed ourselves some time to switch off our devices, unwind with a good book or some lovely friends, and relax for a while.
Word of the Month
"Ramfeezled"
Ramfeezled is a Scottish adjective meaning "exhausted," "fatigued," or completely "worn out" by work, effort or illness. Popularized by the Scottish poet Robert Burns in the late 1700s, it perfectly captures that feeling of operating in slow-motion like a tortoise.
"When swine flu turned into bronchial pneumonia I felt completely ramfeezled."

"Daisy"
Meet Daisy. She never feels ramfeezled. She’s chilled and lives life at her own pace. Before moving on to other delicacies in the garden, she’s taking her time to enjoy the tasty daisies.
R540. Watercolour on Arches paper. 26 cm x 36 cm.

October Soirée
Tickets for the Friday 16 October Soirée are available at R100 per ticket (families get discount, so please contact me directly). This is a rather prestigious affair, with food, drinks, private viewing of the Inktober drawings, and of course, top-class musical entertainment.
This year Yohan Song is back by popular demand as the main act. The supporting act is singer Dave Mendes with the mellifluous voice and soothing songs, accompanied by Richard Pratt on acoustic guitar.
It promises to be a magical evening not to be missed!!! Please WhatsApp me for tickets. THESE TICKETS SELL LIKE HOT CAKES, SO DON’T PROCRASTINATE! ONLY 20 SEATS AVAILABLE. See photos of last year's Soirée.
Open Studio Weekend
The Soirée will be followed by an Open Studio Weekend on the Saturday and Sunday in my Studio 112, where you can view the Inktober drawings as well as my new body of work. All this is freely available to you, while you catch up with friends over a cup of coffee and some snacks. Please diarise the weekend of 17th and 18th October! It will be here before we know it! See photos of last year's Open Studio Weekend.
